Race criteria

Rowers, here are the current criteria in order for a rower to qualify to race. Remember, we have time to improve before our next regatta. So let's all work toward one goal: Personal improvement!

1. Must attend weekly practices
2. Must complete weekly erg pieces
3. Must either have a 2K erg score of 8:35 *OR* have a weight to watts ratio of 1.1 or above.

These are reasonable criteria that have been given us. It does not favor either lightweights or heavyweights. We all have an equal chance! -- Betsy

MS 150 bike ride in April

Pictures have been added to the Photos area from the MS 150 bike ride from Miami to Key Largo. ORC members -- our team is called "Wheels Oar Water" -- train for and ride in these cycling events several times a year to benefit multiple sclerosis research.

The bike rides are challenging, exciting and fun, but most importantly, they're for a good cause. Contact Tanya or Jennifer if you'd like to participate in the next ride!

Erg log

From Betsy:

If you have not done so already, Concept2 has a very handy erg logbook for keeping track of your erg pieces. It is easy to use and inaccessable to anyone but you. ORLANDO ROWING CLUB is registered as a team. If you list them as your team your erg meters will also contribute to our overall standing. Currently we ar 50th with only seven members registering meters. This is a good challenge. ORC ended the last season on May 1st, with the team logging over 6 million meters. I would like to see us hit 20 million this season. Keeps us on our seats!

This link will take you to a log-in page where you can follow the instructions for setting up your log book and rower profile. This is a very good method to track your progress.
